The Trans-Ardennes Greenway has been getting longer in the last few years and it isn’t set to stop quite yet! From 2017, cyclists can enjoy a 130km route linking the towns of Givet and Mouzon, taking in the beautiful landscapes of the French Ardennes, riding along beside the Meuse River.
TGV high-speed trains Paris / Charleville (1hr 45mins) / Sedan (2hrs) : 2 direct trains per day.
TER regional trains Charleville / Givet (travelling beside the Meuse River) 8 to 12 trains per day, on which you can transport your bicycle for free. Note that the Pass’ Ardennes AR retour offers tickets for just €6 at time of writing, for trips in July and August, plus on weekends and public holidays the rest of the year. Railway stations served are at Charleville-Mézières, Nouzonville, Joigny, Bogny and Monthermé.
By car
A4 motorway Paris > Reims then A34 > Charleville-Mézières.
The D1 road runs along the Meuse Valley between the towns of Charleville and Revin.
Special bicycle parking areas can be found at Donchery and at Montcy-Notre Dame
